Something Is Coming

I feel something is missing,

Something that’s amiss,

A hint of slight foreboding,

And a doubt that will persist,

A darkness that’s approaching,

Like a scent upon the air,

A sense of taut portending,

And a warning to beware,

A storm is in the making,

The calm no longer still,

It devours all resistance,

My belief and my goodwill,

It feeds upon the lies you told,

And all the absent truth,

Exposing your deception,

And bringing me the proof.

  1. For the first ten lines I was afraid you’d seen my brother, Helen. Fortunately it turned into a great little poem instead. I’ve tried to stick health warnings to him but they come adrift.
