I watch you sleep,
And I do not care,
For when you breathe,
I know you’re there,
I watch your face,
Through shadows veil,
And I know each line,
Each small detail,
I watch you move,
In slumbers wake,
And let you dream,
While I’m awake,
I watch your hand,
Fall into mine,
I feel your warmth,
Your touch sublime,
I watch you turn,
My heart succumbs,
And I watch you sleep,
Until morning comes.
Wow, this is beautiful. I love the simple structure of the lines, and the empowering topic. Would you maybe check out some of my poems? I need an expert eye.
Thank you. I’d love to take a look over 🙂
Thanks!! If you have any comments or critiques you can post them on the “poems” page, or on the actual poem. You rock!
Beautiful!
Thank you very much 🙂
this is beautiful.
Thanks 🙂
Yep, I get nights like that too sometimes 😀
Beautiful poem 🙂
Thank you 🙂 I think on my nights like that have a knife in my hand, lol 😉
WOW, I won’t be coming to any sleepovers in YOUR hut then LOL 😀
Excellent Helen poems about a lover sleeping and or awakening I love. Very well done.
This is so beautiful. I had a boyfriend once and I awoke to find him sitting over my bed watching me. His words were, “What a wonderful thing to see you slumber and dream.”
Thank you. What beautiful words to wake up to, although the fact he didn’t last may mean there were other things about him that weren’t as beautiful, lol 😉
simply beautiful!
Thank you 🙂
welcome!
Beautiful. I think the feeling of new love has been captured very well. Later in the love evolution you may have captured the thoughts of the cat.
lol, that’s so true John 😉
